UDA National Elections Board to Meet Aspirants As Nomination Date Nears

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) National Elections Board (NEB) will on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, be hosting a meeting of all aspirants eyeing various seats on the party ticket ahead of the nominations.

According to a notice shared on the UDA Twitter handle, the party’s National Elections Board chairperson Anthony Mwaura said the meeting will be held in 34 counties.

The venue for the meetings will be the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) County Tallying Centers.

The UDA National Elections Board (NEB) hereby notifies all aspirants who are participating in UDA nomination exercise of an aspirants meeting scheduled to be held on 6th April 2022 starting at 9.00 am in the following counties at the IEBC county tallying center,” Eng. Mwaura says in part of the notice.

The meeting will be presided over by the UDA County Returning Officers appointed by the National Elections Board.

Aspirants are expected to be briefed on the upcoming party nominations scheduled for April 14, 2022.

Notice to aspirants for the meeting

Deputy President William Ruto who is also the UDA party leader recently assured aspirants of a free and fair exercise.

I will personally supervise the nominations to ensure that the exercise is free and that every member gets an opportunity to be voted for and to win or not win fairly,” Ruto told journalists at his Karen residence on April 4, 2022.

UDA party is planning to print about 50 million ballot papers that will be used in the nomination.
