Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdullahi elected Chairperson Council of Governors, Wisely Rotich Re-elected ICT Chair

The council of Governors has made changes in its leadership

The new office bearers comprise Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdullahi, Mutahi Kahiga,(Nyeri) and Stephen Sang, (Nandi) who were elected new Chairperson, Vice Chair and Whip respectively.

Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wisely Rotich was re-elected the Chairperson ICT and knowledge Management Committee. This is in recognition for Governor Rotich commitment towards ICT adoption that has seen the county realise improved revenue collection.

The governor has been at the forefront in ICT adoption across the country particularly in lobbying for last mile internet connectivity, automation of health services and ICT hubs to help in realising opportunities in the digital economy.

Notably, the governor has pioneered several ICT initiatives within Elgeyo Marakwet through partnerships with the relevant stakeholders which were being emulated across the country.

In this congratulatory message, Governor Rotich wrote: “I wish to congratulate H.E Ahmed Abdullahi EGH for your election as Council of Governors chairperson. I wish the new CoG team God’s speed as they deliver on their mandate.”
