Youth in Uasin Gishu are set to relish even better empowerment programs through the County Youth Policy.
Dr. Jonathan Bii, says the Youth Policy will expand and give clear guidelines for opportunities that seek to empower the young generation.
The Governor was speaking as he graced the Huruma Ward’s youth empowerment forum, at Bishop Delany Secondary School, where over 1,000 youth attended.

“The Uasin Gishu Youth Policy will be presented in cabinet soon and it will give us expanded space and offer legal guidelines for more empowerment programs,” said Dr Bii.
In addition, Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Dr Eddyson Nyale, asked the youth to shun alcohol and drugs, reiterating that sober minds make viable calculations to better living.
Economic success for the youth
On his part, Member of County Assembly for Huruma Ward, Kimani Wanjohi, said the legislature is ready to work with the executive, to assist the youthful generation to attain economic success.
County Executive for Youth Affairs, Eng Lucy Njoroge and her Chief Officer, Jelagat Tirop, said the Department is already running several empowerment programs, as fueled by the slogan *Vijana ni Nguzo, tuwakuze.*

County Executive for Trade, Eng Martha Cheruto also advised the youth on available credit programs that they can pick for business start-ups.
They include Inua Biashara and the County Enterprise Development Fund.
In addition to the Youth Policy, is the Youth Service Bill that will also create frameworks for youth and women empowerment.
The latter will create legal frameworks for youth and women’s to earn stipends and earn valuable experience from employment programs such as unlocking drainage systems and climate action activities.
Both documents are ready for Cabinet deliberation.
