It was a disappointing weekend for the Eldoret-based Espodec Starlets after losing its match over the weekend.
Starlets were away to Kakuma Kalobeyei FC at the Eldoret Show Grounds, in the game which they hoped would continue their winning streak.
They however lost 2-0 to the hosts, tasting defeat for the first time in the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) North Rift Regional League this season.

It was however a big weekend for the Kakuma Kalobeyei FC, after registering huge wins.
Aside from edging out ESPODEC Starlets, they scored seven goals against Waynee Stars and 10 against Kapseret Queens – all without conceding.
The league continues next weekend with Starlets hosting Kapseret Queens on Sunday at Hill School Grounds.
Eying promotion
Before the weekend loss, the Maurice Kamau-coached team had secured three consecutive wins, hitting five past Mama Mboga FC last weekend.
The FKF North Rift regional league has 10 teams
ESPODEC Starlets which comprises girls from humble backgrounds has set its target on winning the league and securing promotion to the Kenya Women Division One League Zone B.

The team based in Langas estate on the outskirts of Eldoret town a few weeks ago inked a deal with Mwangiz Institute of Cosmetology that has since seen five of its best players enrolled on beauty and hairdressing courses.
All five are learning at the institution free of charge.
Further, the partnership enables the best player in each game to be treated to a Monday beauty makeover at the institution.
This is part of the motivation for the girls to perform better in the regional league, and also improve their livelihoods by getting skills that can enable them to be self-sustaining.
