Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has recalled five County Commissioners to the Ministry Headquarters in Nairobi in a recent posting order.
The County Commissioners recalled in a Thursday night circular include the immediate Nyandarua County Commissioner Mohamed Barre who has been named the Secretary for Peace Building in the Ministry of Interior and National Administration.
Others recalled are Joseph Kanyiri (Laikipia), Isaac Masinde (Narok), Tom Anjere (Kisii) and Jude Wesonga (Kajiado).
In the circular, Kindiki said the reorganization which will take effect on 1st February 2024 is meant to enhance service delivery within National Government Administration cadres.
DCCs who have been promoted
The CS also promoted 11 Deputy County Commissioners (DCCs) to the rank of County Commissioner.
Among those promoted include David Koskei (Masinga DCC) who will now serve as Tana River County Commissioner while Trans Mara West DCC Mohamed Ramadhani moves to Garissa County as County Commissioner.
Julius Kavita (Kirinyaga Central DCC) will be in charge of the vast Turkana County while Khalif Abdullahi (Nakuru West DCC) will take over from West Pokot County Commissioner Apollo Akello who has been named the Personal Assistant to the Rift Valley Regional Commissioner.
Mt. Elgon DCC Reuben Lotiatia will serve as Narok County Commissioner, James Taari (Kajiado North DCC) promoted to Kajiado County Commissioner, Turkana West DCC, Mwachaunga Chaunga will be in charge of Busia County, Duncan Darusi (Kiambu) while David Wanyonyi will be in charge of Nairobi City County.
All the Regional Commissioners and 24 County Commissioners will remain in their current stations.
