The DCI on Friday unveiled a roll of honour at the Directorate headquarters to commemorate the detectives who have fallen in the line of duty.
The occasion in which the service offered by six fallen detectives was acknowledged with admiration was graced by their close family members, who got an opportunity to lay wreath in remembrance of their kin.
Speaking during the occasion, the Chief Guest Mohamed I. Amin lauded the boldness of the slain officers, whose only crime was putting their lives on the line for the safety of fellow Kenyans.

In addition, Amin noted with admiration that the officers must have believed in something bigger than themselves, living to the oath of office taken when they first set foot in the service.
Bravery of the fallen gallant officers
The Director DCI also prayed that their memories would live on, encouraging their families to find peace in the knowledge that the their fallen kin were gallant servicemen whose death only motivated those behind them to be better and firm.
Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome whose remarks were delivered by the Police Spokesperson Dr Resila Onyango noted that “we owe the peace and tranquility that we enjoy as a country to the sacrifice and bravery of the fallen gallant officers”.

He further called upon the all National Police Service (NPS) officers to continue offering dedicated services with utmost professionalism, pointing out that the country could only be shaped by observing high levels of integrity and fidelity to the law.
Other senior commanders present included the Deputy Director DCI Nicholas Kamwende, the Commandant GSU Eliud Lagat, SAIG, Director Investigations Bureau, Abdallah Komesha, SAIG, Director Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB), Mr John Onyango, SAIG, Director Logistics APS, Dr Mwinyi Masoud, SAIG, Regional Criminal Investigation Officers among other DCI Officers.
