Eldoret Estates to Experience Two-Day Water Supply Interruption

The Eldoret Water and Sanitation Company (ELDOWAS) has asked its customers to prepare for the interruption of water supply next week.

The company is now asking customers to store enough water for personal and essential use during the affected period.

Announcing the planned water supply interruption, Eldowas said it was due to routine maintenance.

Areas that will be affected by the interruption are those that consume water from the Chebara Water Treatment Plant.

This is to notify our esteemed customers that the water from Chebara Treatment Plant will be interrupted on Tuesday 25th April 2023 from 9.00 am to Wednesday 26th April 2023 at 6.00 pm,” read part of the public notice signed by Eldowas Managing Director Peter Kibet Arap Biwott.

The interruption is to allow for routine maintenance,” it added.

Eldoret estates to be affected by water supply interruption

Here is a list of estates that Eldowas indicated will be affected by the interruption according to the Eldowas’ public notice;

  • Kimumu, University of Eldoret
  • Marakwet Farm, Kapchumba, the upper parts of Maili Nne
  • Munyaka, Kapsoya, Action Estate
  • Rift Valley Bottlers
  • Upper Elgon View, Eldoret Polytechnic, Annex, Langas, Racecourse, Kapseret
  • Chepkanga, Marura
  • Kamukunji, Mwanzo, Old Uganda Road

All other customers along the Chebara-Eldoret Pipeline will also be affected as well as areas surrounding the above-listed estates.

We encourage all customers to prepare for this interruption by storing enough water for personal use and essential household tasks during the affected hours,” noted Eldowas which is mandated to supply water to locals within the Eldoret Municipality.
