How many jobs will Eldoret EPZ create?
Upon its completion in November 2024, the EPZ has the potential to generate over 3,000 job opportunities for the county youth.
“We are positioning Uasin Gishu to become a strong player in the global market,” Governor Bii remarked.
He added that the new avenues for trade would also enable local farmers to enhance their productivity, thereby meeting both local and international demand.
Meanwhile, CS Mvurya praised the initiative, stating that the establishment of the Eldoret EPZ aligns with the national government’s vision of promoting export-oriented industries and enhancing Kenya’s competitiveness in the global market.
He further expressed optimism that the EPZ would attract a diverse range of industries, providing a platform for sustainable economic growth in the region.
Later on, the delegation led by the governor visited the County Aggregation and Industrial Park (CAIP) project in Moiben to assess its construction works noting that farmers stand to benefit greatly from the initiative, as they will have increased access to markets.
