Eugene Wamalwa: How I Helped MP Didmus Barasa in 2017

DAP-K Party leader Eugene Wamalwa was on Saturday involved in a war of words with Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa.

The two met during a burial in Bungoma County.

Barasa, a vocal UDA legislator was the first to speak and accused Wamalwa of doing nothing for the people of Western Kenya during his time as a Cabinet Secretary.

The DAP-K Party leader served as Devolution, Water and Defense CS during retired President Uhuru Kenyatta’s reign.

But responding to Kimilili MP’s claim, the former CS revealed that he helped him buy his first car when he was first elected in 2017.

I don’t brag but it’s in a bad picture for my friend MP to claim I did nothing. I also provided him a house in Westlands,” Wamalwa said.

The former minister said he also pushed the awarding of charters to Kibabii and Alupe Universities alongside Kaimosi University.

I blame the leaders who branded themselves kingpins of the region. This is because they have failed to put in place ways to eradicate poverty,” he said.

My push for good leadership that will see our people come out of poverty will continue,” Natembeya added.
