Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim is this Tuesday expected to officially open the third Uasin Gishu County Assembly.
A communication from the assembly seen by Uasin Gishu News shows that the governor will be presiding over the official opening from 2.30 PM.
During the event, Governor Chelilim will address the assembly that comprises of 44 MCAs, 30 elected and 14 nominated.
In his address, the county boss is expected to outline his agenda for the next five years and any legislations he hopes the County Assembly should put in place to facilitate his administration.

The governor popularly known as Koti Moja pegged his campaigns on a 10-point agenda dubbed ‘Nguzo Kumi’ which will be guiding his administration.
With the official opening of the assembly, MCAs will be getting into the business of their legislative role.
Already the assembly’s leadership has been unveiled with Julius Sang getting the lucrative leader of the majority seat.
Sang is the Megun MCA in Kapseret Constituency.

For the majority whip, the seat went to Tulwet/Chuiyat MCA Julius Songok.
Langas MCA Francis Muya was given the leader of the minority with Huruma’s Kimani Wanjohi getting minority whip.
Meanwhile, Uasin Gishu got its first female deputy speaker after Sarah Male was elected to the position.
Malel will deputies Phillip Muigei who will serve as the Uasin Gishu County Assembly Speaker for the next five years.
