Eldoret town has in the last few years been experiencing rapid growth which has seen it position itself as the next city in Kenya.
With the rapid growth, demand for the need to increase infrastructure developments is also on the rise.
However, the Uasin Gishu County Department of Housing and Urban Development, mandated to ensure urban growth is undertaking various development projects meant to improve the city’s outlook to enhance service provision to all residents.

County Director of Housing Beatrice Menjo, together with resident engineer Eng. Benjamin Maiyo and the County Architect Gabriel Rimo, early this week accompanied contractors to various sites where projects are set to kick off.
Among the sites and works to be done include, the construction of a road section along the Eldoret Sports Club, construction of curio shops at Korosiot, improvement of Korosiot roundabout, construction of shoe shine shades opposite Zion Mall, a gate at the County headquarters, installation of solar street lights at the Eldoret town centre and road markings.
Speaking during the site tour, Menjo urged all contractors to ensure that they meet the timeliness allocated for each work and observe integrity.

Eng. Maiyo on his part said that quality work is expected from each contractor and the supervision team would be working closely with them to guide work specifications.
