Uasin Gishu MCAs swearing-in
Aside from the swearing-in of the Governor-elect and deputy governor-elect, the newly elected Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) are also expected to be sworn in before they start executing their legislative roles.
According to the Uasin Gishu County Assembly Director of Communications David Sum, the swearing-in will be on September 6, 2022.

It is on the same day that a new county assembly speaker will be elected.
“…swearing in of Uasin Gishu County Assembly members and election of a speaker will be on 6th September while governor will be 25th August,” Sum said.
Uasin Gishu County has 30 elected MCAs, 26 of who are from UDA, two from the Jubilee party and two others won on an independent ticket.
14 nominated MCAs are expected to be gazetted by IEBC, based on the UDA party list already submitted – after it was an almost absolute majority of the seats.
A majority of the nominated MCAs are expected to be women and youths, after only three women were elected.
