List: Over 15 North Rift Politicians among Individuals Shortlisted For CAS Posts

Several former Members of Parliament from the North Rift region are among the 224 individuals that the Public Service Commission (PSC) has shortlisted for the position of Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS).

PSC announced the list of the shortlisted candidates on February 20, 2023.

Also included in the list are individuals that were eyeing various positions in the August 9, 2022, general elections on a Kenya Kwanza ticket – the majority from UDA – but failed along the way.

Among the notable shortlisted individuals from the North Rift include former MPs Caleb Kositany (Soy), Alex Kosgey (Emgwen), Cornelly Serem (Aldai) and Jackson Kiptanui (Keiyo South).

Others are former Turkana Central MP John Lodebe, former Turkana County Woman MP Joyce Emanikor, Liliam Tomiton (former West Pokot County Woman MP) and former Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa.

Former Cherangany MP Wesley Korir and former MPs in Nandi County – Wilson Kogo (Chesumei) and Kirwa Bitok (Mosop) are also among the shortlisted for the CAS posts.

In Uasin Gishu, Rael Jebichii Lelei who was eyeing the County Woman MP seat and gubernatorial aspirant Solomon Kiptarbei alias ‘Gavana wa Baiskeli’ are also on the list.

The shortlisted candidates will be interviewed on March 1, 2023, out of which successful ones will have their names forwarded to the National Assembly for vetting and approval.

Once approved, they will be formally appointed by President William Ruto.
