Voting is ongoing smoothly in various parts of Uasin Gishu County.
A majority of polling stations opened at 6 am as earlier expected and voters started streaming in.
In the polling stations that uasingishunews.co.ke visited, there were long queues of voters eager to cast their votes and decide on who their leaders will be.
At Border Farm Primary School, one of the polling stations in Kapsoya Ward, Ainabkoi Sub County, voting was ongoing smoothly.

“Everything is going on smoothly, the station opened earlier and there has been no challenge so far, maybe only the fact that it can take some time before a voter knows which stream his/her name is in,” said a party agent.
Several candidates vying for various seats in the county have also already voted.
Deputy President William Ruto cast his vote early in the morning at Kosachei Primary School in Turbo Constituency.

The DP who is the UDA Presidential candidate said he cast his vote early to serve as an example following their calls for voters to wake up early and exercise their constitutional right.
UDA Uasin Gishu gubernatorial candidate Jonathan Bii Chelilim alias Koti Moja cast his vote at the Kapsang Primary polling Station around 9.30 am.
Koti Moja was accompanied by his wife Salina Bii as well as his daughter and son – Beryl and Breinard Bii, respectively.

On his part, the independent gubernatorial candidate Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop Buzeki cast his vote at Arap Moi Primary School in Ainabkoi Constituency around 9:30 am.

Outgoing Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago who is also the UDA Senate seat candidate cast his vote at Limnyamoi Primary School in Soy Constituency early in the mourning.

Another candidate who has already cast her vote is UDA County Woman MP candidate Gladys Boss Shollei.
Shollei seeking a second term cast her vote at Plateau Bible School in Ainabkoi Constituency at around 6:30 am.

Kesses MP Dr Swarup Mishra, seeking re-election as an independent candidate also cast his vote at Racecourse Primary School.
