President William Ruto on Sunday, January 4, 2025, held a meeting with a section of leaders from Trans Nzoia including Members of the County Assembly.
According to Kiminini Member of Parliament Kakai Bisau, the meeting focused on several issues among them development and leadership.
Trans Nzoia Senator Allan Chesang was also present at the meeting held at the Eldoret State Lodge.

“This evening, I joined the Members of the County Assembly from Trans Nzoia County alongside Senator Allan Chesang, in a consultative meeting with His Excellency Dr. William Samoei Ruto at the Eldoret State Lodge,” Bissau said.
What did Trans Nzoia discuss with Ruto?
“The discussions focused on development, leadership and strategic engagement aimed at advancing the interests and welfare of the people of Trans Nzoia County,” he added.
The MP who has already declared plan to vie for the Trans Nzoia gubernatorial seat in 2027 further reaffirmed his commitment to work closely with all leaders to ensure communities benefit from coordinated and impactful leadership.

On his part, Senator Chesang said the meeting focused on preparations for the President’s visit and aligning on priority development initiatives to enhance service delivery and spur inclusive growth across Trans Nzoia County.
Ruto’s meeting with Trans Nzoia MCAs comes days after Governor George Natembeya held a similar meeting.
Natembeya, in a post on his Facebook page said his meeting was meant to set the agenda for 2026.
“Today, I held a fruitful consultative meeting with the honourable Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) of Trans Nzoia County to set an agenda for 2026,” Natembeya said in a post dated January 2, 2025.

The governor has been a fierce critic of the Kenya Kwanza government and President William Ruto.
Some of government-allied politicians led by Nandi Senator Samson Cherargey have repeatedly called for Natembeya’s impeachment.
