A section of the residents of Saboti Constituency in Trans Nzoia County have called on President William Ruto’s aide, Farouk Kibet, to publicly apologies to them and their Member of Parliament, Caleb Amisi, following his alleged Saturday 16 June, 2025 personal attack on the opposition lawmaker.
Led by Musa Eremon, the residents said Farouk should never interfere with with the affairs of the people of Saboti.
“We want to condemn in the strongest terms possible what Farouk said about our hardworking MP yesterday. He (Farouk) should know that we love Amisi because he has delivered what he promised us,” Eremon stated while asking Farouk to apologise to Amisi.
Eremon’s statement was echoed by Beverley Karani who urged Farouk to concentrate on helping President Ruto deliver his Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) instead of demeaning other elected leaders.
What did Farouk Kibet tell MP Caleb Amisi?
This comes after a viral video circulated online showing Farouk warning Saboti MP Caleb Amisi not to stop him from visiting the area.

“It seems Farouk Kibet has forgotten his job description. We want to remind him that neither Caleb Amisi nor Saboti Constituency is one of what he is required. Assisting the President is his one and only responsibility,” said Karani.
She further added that the remarks made at Matumbei Secondary School in Endebess Constituency during a women empowerment programme were demeaning, unworthy and meant to provoke Amisi who has maintained that he does not recognise the broad-based government.
“If you (Farouk) thought that you can silence Amisi so that he can worship this government, then you are in for a rude shock. Amisi is a principled MP who cannot be bought,” she added.
Why Caleb Amisi has an issue with the government
The second-term Member of Parliament elected through the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has been vocal against extrajudicial killings, abductions and enforced disappearances, mega corruption scandals, police brutality, and the rising cost of living due to heavy taxation introduced by the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Gracing the empowerment programme, Kibet said he will soon lead an empowerment programme in Saboti and that the area MP (Caleb Amisi) will do nothing about it.
On August 3, 2025, Amisi together with ODM Secretary General, Edwin Sifuna, Githunguri MP, Gathoni Wamuchomba and Kabuchai MP Majimbo Kalasinga held a fundraising to support small businesswomen at Lukhome.

Speaking at the fundraiser and later during the handing over of cash to the beneficiaries, Amisi said his style of empowerment is a game changer unlike what the Kenya Kwanza regime has been doing in several parts of the country.
