‘Sera Yao Haiingiani Na Mimi’: Buzeki Says He Won’t Join UDA – Video

Billionaire businessman Buzeki Zedekiah Kiprop has ruled out any possibility of joining the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

UDA is a party Deputy President William Ruto is expected to use in vying for the presidency in the upcoming poll.

There have been calls for politicians, especially from the Rift Valley region to join the party, or face rejection from voters in the August 9, 2022, election.

In a post on his official Facebook page, Buzeki named challenges facing farmers, the youth, and businesspersons as some of the things his government will seek to address.

But according to a video doing rounds on social media, Buzeki says there is no chance that he will join UDA.

Buzeki is eyeing the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial seat.

He says there is no need for UDA politicians to threaten and give ultimatums for others to join the party.

The businessman cum politician notes that his manifestos do not align with those being championed by UDA, hence he won’t join them.

Kama sitaki chama yako utanilazimisha nini… mimi UDA hawajaniuzia sera ile imeniingia kichwa,” said Buzeki, loosely translated to “If I don’t want your party, there no need of forcing me…for me, UDA policies don’t align with mine.”

“Na Nimesikia vile wanasema, sera yao haiingiani na mimi. Na mimi siwezi ingia UDA, kwa hivyo hata usinilazimishe,” he adds.

It is not yet clear when the video was taken.

However, it seems Buzeki was responding to an ultimatum that Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi had some time in 2021 issued to politicians perceived to be against DP Ruto.

“I urge our political nemesis in Rift Valley to either shape in or shape out,” Sudi has said in a message targeted at among others Buzeki, Kesses MP Dr. Mishra Kiprop, Silas Tiren (Moiben), Alfred Keter (Nandi Hills), Joshua Kutuny (Cherangany) and Uasin Gishu Senator Prof Margaret Kamar.

But Buzeki has remained adamant saying “if they (UDA) had agendas that would serve Kenyans and bring change, I would have supported them.”

The billionaire businessman has since announced that he will be vying for the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial seat as an independent candidate.
