KOSITANY RUTO WAIGIRU

Storm as MP Kositany Brands Pro-Ruto Governors ‘Corruption Free’

Soy Member of Parliament Caleb Kositany caused a Twitter storm on Sunday after posting a photo of 11 governors allied to Deputy President William Ruto.

While tweeting the photo, Kositany described the governors as ‘corruption free’.

Among the governors that were in the photo, alongside DP Ruto, included Jackson Mandago (Uasin Gishu), Stephen Sang (Nandi), Stanly Kiptis (Baringo), Josphat Nanok (Turkana), and Kirinyaga’s Ann Waigiru.

“Corruption free Governors,” Kositany captioned the photo.

The governors Kositany said were corruption-free.

Kenyans on Twitter (KOT), however, seemed to differ with the vocal MP, hitting out at him for what they termed as an ‘openly misleading statement’.

The majority of those who replied to the tweet said Kositany was turning a blind eye to the fact that some of the governors in the photo were facing corruption charges.

“Corruption free governors… Mhesh hapa si unakosea wakenya heshima hadharani,” noted a Twitter user identified as MoYusuf.

“Why are you discriminating Governor Waiguru?” Substone Oroso sarcastically replied to the tweet.

“So you chose to lie this blatantly?” added another Twitter user @vincmaru.

A section of allies of Deputy President William Ruto has in the past claimed that many governors supporting ODM leader Raila Odinga were doing so in fear of facing graft prosecutions.

They claim the government was using corruption to threaten and coerce governors into supporting Raila.

Recently, over 30 governors endorsed Raila Odinga’s presidential bid

But Kenyans are having nothing of the claims, especially with the tweet from Kositany.

“Let’s just say, Governor’s supporting Hustler, hiyo ya Corruption free wachana nayo,” noted @itsRKL1.

“This tweet and photo is discriminatory in all measures. How would you put Sang, Waigiru, Nanok, Karuga, and the others in the same sentence with Mvurya? Shameful,” said Kelvin Jilani.
