Sweden Delegation Seeks To Partner with County, MTRH in Cancer Management

Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson K. Arap Mandago, on Friday, July 1, 2022, hosted a delegation from Stockholm, Sweden looking to collaborate with the county administration and the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) in the management of cancer.

Speaking during the meeting held at the Uasin Gishu County headquarters in Eldoret town, Mandago noted that his Government has had several collaborations with Sweden and her Nordic countries and the new collaboration was fully welcomed.

Anna Lindbergh, speaking on behalf of the delegation, said they had a fruitful engagement with Moi University, MTRH and the county department of Health Services.

This, she said has given them a clearer understanding of areas of collaboration subject to further discussions.

The County Government of Uasin Gishu boosts of collaboration in Arvika Municipality, Sweden, currently partnering with Moi’s Bridge Township in urban sanitation programs while several Finnish Universities have education partnerships with Uasin Gishu.

The Danish Government through Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) has also been working with livestock farmers in Uasin Gishu for many years.

Also present during the courtesy call was County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Health Dr Everlyne Rotich and Professor Simeon Mining of Moi University.
