Uhuru Heaps Praises on KDF as He Presides Over Passing-Out Parade Ceremony at Moi Barracks Eldoret

President Uhuru Kenyatta has hailed the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) for agreeing to take up some of the national programs and helping rescue some of the failed institutions in the country.

Speaking at the Moi Barracks Recruits Training School in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, for this year’s passing-out parade ceremony of the Kenya Defence Forces Recruits, President Kenyatta named works on 600 kilometres dead meter gauge railway and the revive of the Kenya Meat Commission (KMC) as some of the areas the KDF had worked on in an impressive manner.

We gave you the challenge to revive the livestock industry for the herders and you did and turned around KMC into a profit-making entity in a record time,” said the Head of State.

He also hailed KDF for turning around the fortunes of the Kenya Shipyard Limited, which is now poised to be the largest shipyard in the region as another area the KDF has demonstrated effectiveness in their work.

Completion of Uhuru Gardens National Monument in the record 2 months, is another crucial area that the Commander in Chief of the Defense forced hailed the military for, alongside improved services to Nairobi locals under the Nairobi Metropolitan Services which is led by General Maj Gen. Mohamed Badi.

We see it every day and we are grateful for that work,” Kenyatta said.

The KDF also played an active role in Kenya’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

At least 3,000 recruits that have been taken through rigorous military training participated in the passing-out parade ceremony witnessed by First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, Defense Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa and Chief of Defence Forces General Robert Kibochi.

Earlier, the President officially opened the ultra-modern KDF Regional Military Hospital at the Moi Barracks.

The Hospital will offer health services to KDF soldiers and their family members.
