Trans Nzoia County Receives Medical Equipment Donation from US Preacher Eddie L Warren

The County Government of Trans Nzoia has received a consignment of assorted medical equipment aimed at strengthening healthcare services across the region.

The donation, which includes surgical sets, orthopedic beds,physiotherapy equipment, and delivery beds, was made possible through a partnership with Bishop Eddie L Warren and a team from the United States of America,Bishop Warren, a long-time missionary in the county, has worked closely with the local administration for over three decades.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, County Executive Committee (CEC) Member for Finance and Economic Planning, Dr Joseph Pepela, confirmed that the equipment was received on behalf of Governor George Natembeya and Bishop Stephan Rutto.

This is a generous donation from the good people of the United States through Bishop E . L Warren, who has been a friend to Trans Nzoia for many years,” said Dr Pepela.

We signed a MoU with Bishop E L Warren and his team, and this is the fruit of that partnership,” he added.

Which medical equipment did Trans Nzoia receive from the US?

Dr Pepela added that the consignment includes two delivery beds earmarked for the newly completed Tom Mboya Child and Mother Hospital.

We have several surgical sets that will support our operational theatres across the county. These tools will help our health workers provide better Services,” he said.

The donation was received by top Trans Nzoia County officials on October 29, 2025.

CEC for Health and Sanitation, Christopher Kerio Lorot, echoed the sentiment, noting that the donation aligns with Governor Natembeya’s broader plan to improve healthcare access and affordability.

This is part of the governor’s campaign promise to make healthcare accessible to all. The partnership with friends of the county is bearing fruit,” said Lorot.

Vice Chair of the Wamalwa Kijana Teaching and Referral Hospital Board, Ronald Masindano, praised the collaboration between the county government and the church.

This partnership is a testament to what can be achieved when faith-based organizations and government work together. We are seeing real improvements in service delivery,” he said.

The medical equipment will be distributed to county-run health facilities.

Church representative Rev Emmanuel highlighted the governor’s commitment since taking office in 2022.

When Governor Natembeya came in, we only had two theatres. Today, we have more, and this consignment will ensure that nearly every sub-county has the tools needed for medical intervention,” he said.

The assorted equipment orthopedic sets, surgical kits, and delivery beds will go a long way in boosting the health sector in Trans Nzoia,” he added.

Distribution of the equipment to various health facilities is expected to begin in the coming weeks, with Governor Natembeya and Bishop Stephan Rutto leading the exercise.
