Trans Nzoia: Taskforce Formed to Review, Propose Health Reforms

Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has formed a 13-member Health and Transformation taskforce which has been mandated to review and propose reforms in the transformation of Health Services and Sanitation.

Speaking during the unveiling of the taskforce on February 17, 2023, County Secretary Truphosa Amera said the county was facing a crisis in health care.

The taskforce, Amera said, is expected to come up with proposals that will help in revolutionizing how the people of Trans Nzoia experience the health services offered.

She added that the team will get full support from the governor and from Trans Nzoia residents to ensure they realize their mandate.

County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Health Dr. Pepela Wanjala on his part revealed that the county has plans that need to be implemented in the health sector.

Once done, other counties will come for benchmarking,” said Wanjala.

He added that the county has put in place strategic plans on how resources will be mobilized.

The taskforce will be chaired by Dr. Ferdinand Wanjala Nang’ole with Dr. Rachel Inginia being the secretary.

Meanwhile, the assignment for the team that started on January 30, 2023, is expected to take 21 and the report will be handed over to the governor with appropriate recommendations.
