Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Stephen Kihara has been transferred.
Kihara is among eight county commissioners transferred in the latest changes by the outgoing Interior and National Coordination Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i.
And according to a letter dated August 23, 2022, Kihara has been moved from Uasin Gishu to Embu.
Eddyson Haro Nyale will be the new Uasin Gishu County Commissioner after he was transferred from Embu.

Prior to the August 9, 2022, general election, Kihara was accused of being part of the county commissioners that the government was trying to use to cause violence in the Rift Valley region.
The claims were made by President-elect Dr William Ruto and several other politicians allied to him from the county.
Also affected in the transfer is Nakuru’s Erastus Mwenda Mbui who faced similar accusations from Kenya Kwanza politicians.
Mbui has been transferred to Kitui.
New Trans Nzoia County Commissioner
Other County Commissioners affected in the latest transfer are Beverly Khasoa Opwora who moved from Bomet to Makueni County and Samson Otieno Ojwang who has been transferred from Trans Nzoia to Busia.
Further, Mathias Mbagai Rioba is the new Trans Nzoia County Commissioner, transferred from Kitui.
And the new Kitui County Commissioner is Gilbert Benjamin Kitiyo, transferred from Makueni while Dr Ahmed Omar Ahmed has been moved from Busia to Bomet.

Interestingly, a majority of the transferred county commissioners had been named by Dr Ruto and other Kenya Kwanza politicians as part of government officials that were being used by powerful individuals in power.
Resign
“The Regional Commissioner of Rift Valley, Maalim Mohamed, the County commissioners Samson Ojwang of Trans Nzoia and Stephen Kihara of Uasin Gishu and Erastus Mbui of Nakuru are part of this scheme. They are the people holding night meetings to plan conflict amongst Kenyans,” the President-elect said during a press briefing at Karen Nairobi, early in August 2022.
But even with the transfer of the county commissioners, Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi, speaking during the swearing-in ceremony of new Uasin Gishu governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim alias Koti Moja at the Eldoret Sports Club on Thursday, August 25, 2022, asked him to resign.
“To the county commissioner, we know what you did and we have forgiven you. But we are not going to allow you to be in this government, you must resign,” Sudi, a close ally of the President-elect said.
