A sombre mood engulfed Uasin Gishu Firefighting Section, friends and family members during a prayer service and the viewing of the body of George Tabu who until his demise was a firefighter employed by the County government of Uasin Gishu.
The late Tabu had battled with diabetes for many years and died at the Eldoret Hospital on May 10, 2024, while receiving treatment.

Senior county officials and staff who spoke during the prayer service described him as a hardworking and dedicated firefighter whose death remains a big loss to the devolved unit.
The fire station siren was sounded twice as a mark of respect for the late.

He will be laid to rest on 25th May 2024 in Lukhome village, Majewa sub-location in Trans Nzoia county. May his soul rest in peace.
