A section of Members of Parliament (MPs) from Uasin Gishu County was on April 11, 2023, hosted by Citizen Services Principal Secretary Prof. Julius Bitok.
The legislators led by Senator Jackson Mandago had paid the PS a courtesy visit at his office in Eldoret.
In an update of the meeting, Prof. Bitok said they discussed a number of development issues relating to the people of Uasin Gishu.
Among those discussed included the establishment of civil registries and national registration bureaus at the sub-county level.

The discussion was also related to the need to upgrade and expand the Eldoret Immigration offices, in readiness for the soon-to-be city status.
“Received a courtesy visit from Uasin Gishu County Senator Jackson Mandago and Members of National Assembly where we discussed on a number of developmental issues including; establishment of Civil Registration Services(CRS) and National Registration Bureau(NRB) centres in Sub Counties and the expansion and upgrade of the immigration office in Eldoret town,” the PS posted on his verified Facebook page.

Similar sentiments were echoed by Soy MP David Kiplagat who attended the meeting.
Others present were CPA Julius Ruto (Kesses), Ainabkoi’s Samuel Chepkonga, Janet Rotich (Turbo) and Moiben’s Prof. Phyllis Bartoo.

“As Uasin Gishu members of parliament, we today paid a courtesy call to Principal Secretary in charge of Citizen Services Amb. Prof Julius Bitok. We discussed a number of issues affecting the people of uasin Gishu including upgrading of registration centers in the sub counties and upgrading Eldoret Immigration office,” the Soy MP posted on his official Facebook page.
The Citizen Services PS hails from Uasin Gishu County.
He was eyeing the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial seat in the 2022 general election but finished second in the UDA nominations.
President William Ruto later appointed him the PS.
