Uasin Gishu to Set up Call Centre, Toll-Free Number

The County Government of Uasin Gishu is planning to unveil a toll-free number and set up a call centre.

This is in a bid to facilitate residents’ to access county services with ease and help the devolved unit get quick feedback on issues affecting the targeted residents.

Eng Lucy Ng’endo, the county executive in charge of ICT and Innovation said the toll-free number will be introduced before January 2023.

We want to be receiving information from the people and the county also communicating with the people. All phones will be compatible with the App that will be used,” noted Eng. Ng’endo.

She spoke during a stakeholders consultative County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) preparation process forum for the year 2023/2027 on infrastructure and ICT and Innovation.

On his part, the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Water, Irrigation, Sanitation, Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change Dr Abraham Serem reiterated that the CIDP will be crucial in helping Governor Jonathan Bii deliver on his pre-election promises to the people of Uasin Gishu in the next five-year period.

He also said it will play a crucial role as Eldoret gears toward being elevated to a city.

Further, CECM Roads, Transport and Public Works Engineer Joseph Lagat said the regional government plans to promote environment-friendly and renewable energy that will be economically viable and sustainable for the residents of Uasin Gishu.

The three CECMs thanked the residents for participating in the process saying that their proposals will be taken into consideration going forward, for the betterment and growth of the County.
