Outgoing Kesses Member of Parliament Dr Swarrup Mishra has finally come out to address claims he had withdrawn scholarship for 300 students.
Claims of the legislator stopping his support to the students emerged just after he lost in his bid to be re-elected in the just concluded General Election.
The issue has been a subject of discussion on social media pages, with Kenyans expressing mixed reactions over it.

While some said it was wrong for Mishra to withdraw the scholarship, others supported his move.
But the outgoing legislator has finally made things straight.
In a post on his verified Facebook page, the MP who has served for one term since 2017 said the claims were fake.
“For the past one week, the social media has been awash with FAKE NEWS that I have withdrawn scholarship for 300 Students from Kesses Constituency,” Mishra said.

“I urge you all to disregard the rumors, FAKE NEWS and sophisticated disinformation campaigns being peddled across-board,” he added.
Mishra’s big heart
Further, the outgoing legislator assured that he will continue supporting even more locals from his Constituency even when he is not an elected leader.
“The program is still on course and by the Great Grace of God we shall continue absorbing and supporting more students,” Mishra said in the statement.
“I also take this opportunity to thank The Great People of Kesses for the opportunity, trust and endearing love they accorded me all along,” he added.

Mishra gained popularity amongst locals for his big heart in helping them.
Aside from being a politician, he is also a businessman – being the founder and director of one of the biggest private hospitals in Eldoret – Mediheal – that also has branches in Nakuru, Nairobi and Kigali, Rwanda.
