Uasin Gishu governor candidate Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop alias Buzeki has promised to prioritize the empowerment of the less privileged members of the society if elected in the August 9 poll.
Buzeki who pitched tents in Chebarus and Chepkanga in Turbo and Moiben sub-counties respectively said that upon being elected, he will address all the issues affecting the youths, women, and people with disabilities.
In the company of his running mate Reuben Chepses, he promised to treat all the citizens of Uasin Gishu equally and equitably.
“We shall adhere to the constitution’s provision of 5 percent employment of people with disabilities. We shall ensure implementation of 30 percent procurement provisions for our women,” said Buzeki.
He observed that since the youths are a significant human resource, their administration commits to support and work with them to ensure that they achieve their dreams.
Under his leadership, the billionaire businessman who was accorded a warm reception by the residents indicated the aged will be accorded respect and be celebrated.
“We commit to having an annual senior citizens governor’s roundtable. We shall coordinate and support the senior citizens to access government stipends and other support services. For the senior citizens who are yet to be registered, we shall bring them on board and backdate their payments because they deserve the best in life,” Buzeki further said.
To facilitate this, the independent gubernatorial candidate said that he shall set up a mobile delivery unit service that will move around the county detailing all the beneficiaries.
“The delivery unit will also be charged with providing identification cards for senior citizens in the county to access priority service and free parking. At no given time should our able elders suffer neglect,” Buzeki told the residents amid cheers from the swelling crowds who came out in large numbers to welcome the pair.
