Boost for Trade as Kimumu/Bahati Fresh Produce Market Roads Projects are Completed

The County Government of Uasin Gishu County has completed implementing various road projects at the Kimumu/Bahati fresh produce wholesale market.

Done through the department of Transport, Roads and Public Works, the move to improve infrastructure at the market by Governor Jonathan Bii’s administration is aimed at enhancing mobility to the market and creating a conducive environment for business.

During an inspection of the projects on Friday, January 6, 2023, the team from the Department of Roads confirmed that the work that has so far been completed includes a road which connects from the market to Eldoret-Iten road at (Jerusalem) 0.73 km where heavy gravelling is complete.

According to the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Roads Engineer Joseph Lagat, the objective of timely implementation of the road projects is to ensure improved infrastructure.

This, the CECM said would facilitate the free movement of goods and services in markets across the country and also help transporters from rural parts to access the markets with ease, hence improving the livelihoods of the residents.
