The County Government of Uasin Gishu through the Department of Water, Environment, Natural Resources, Tourism, and Wildlife Management together with the Association of Sisters in Kenya (AOSK) on Wednesday planted over 300 tree seedlings and carried out a clean-up exercise to mark World Environment Day.

This year’s theme for the celebrations is ‘Only One Earth’.

The theme calls for collective, transformative action on a global scale to celebrate, protect and restore our planet.

Environment County Executive Committee Member (CECM) Mary Njogu highlighted that this year’s World Environment Day will be celebrated for a week by planting trees across the County to help combat the effects of climate change.
