The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 comes to an end on December 18, 2022, with an epic final between two football powerhouses – Argentina and France.
There are records in line for the highly anticipated final, as the Argentine, Lionell Messi – usually rated as the Greatest of All Time – seeks to lift the only trophy he has never won – The World Cup.
On the other hand, youngster Kylian Mbappe, 24, is hoping to go into history books as among the youngest player to win two World Cups since Pele achieved the feat at the age of 21.
France is also eyeing to be the third country to win two consecutive World Cups after Italy and Brazil.

But as you await the final, do you know how much each of the 32 teams that participated in the Qatar World Cup will be getting?
Cash prizes for World Cup Teams
The 16 teams that were eliminated at the group stage – including three African countries – Cameroon, Ghana and Tunisia – will each receive Ksh1.1 billion.
Eight other teams that were eliminated at the knock-out stages among them Senegal will each get Ksh1.6 billion while four teams that made it to the quarter-finals will go home with Ksh2.09 billion each.
Record setters Morrocco will be returning home with the cash prize of Ksh3.08 billion after finishing fourth while Croatia who won the play-off game on December 17, 2022, will get Ksh3.32 billion.

The winner between Argentina and France will get Ksh5.61 billion while the loser will return home with Ksh3.7 billion.
In total, the International Football federation – FIFA, will be using Ksh49.88 billion ($440 million) for the cash prizes for the participating teams.
