All Co-operative bank branches will remain closed for over two days to facilitate migration to the new banking system.
A notice on the bank’s website indicates that the branches will be closed over the weekend, starting Friday, June 9, 2023, at 3.00 PM to the morning of Monday, June 12, 2023.
“Please note that all our branches will be closed for migration to the new banking system, from Friday 9th June at 3.00 pm to Monday 12th June at 8.30 am,” read part of the notice.
However, while the branches will be closed, customers will be able to access some of the services – although with limitations.
The Co-operative bank services that will still be available during the migration include ATMs, MCo-opCash mobile banking, Co-op kwa Jirani and Card transactions at POS.
Further, the bank has cautioned its customers that it will not call them for any personal information during the system migration.
It has also apologized for any inconveniences that the process might cause, “as we look forward to serving you in a much better way.”

Reports indicate that the new banking system that Co-Operative Bank will be migrating to is worth $ 50 million (Ksh6.95 billion)
The system dubbed ‘Finacle’ has enhanced safety measures and guarantees faster transaction speeds for its customers.
It was built by Infosys Limited — an Indian multinational IT company.
The co-operative bank is one of the biggest financial institutions in Kenya. It has a deep customer base with over 7.5 million accounts as of December 2018.
In 2010, the bank was awarded “Best Bank of Kenya” by the London Financial Times due to its excellent growth.
It currently has 138 branches spread across the country.
