Newly elected Eldoret National Polytechnic student leaders have officially assumed officials.
The new officials took oath of office on Friday, May 23, 2025.
Polytechnic’s Chief Principal Dr Charles Koech graced the event held at the institution’s square at the main campus, marking a start of the new leadership era under the revised Eldoret National Polytechnic constitution.
The newly elected leaders were sworn in under the guidance of an advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Victoria Lagat.

In his inaugural speech, the newly elected student president Darius Kipchirchir expressed his gratitude to his peers for their support.

“I take this opportunity to thank all of you for trusting me. Now it’s time to get to work,” Kipchirchir said.
Other student leaders who took oath of office included deputy student president Dan Wakoli; trainee governor Isaiah Ochieng and his deputy Leonard Kiptoo; secretary general Castro Omondi; Cabinet Secretary for Health and Environment Juliet Mokeira, her Catering and Accommodation counterpart Sally Obiero, Women Representative Meresa Akoth, popularly known as Chogo; CS for Education Nick Ogaja, Purity Jebet (Finance) and representative for persons with disabilities John James Otieno.
The event paves the way for the team to officially assume office after a largely peaceful election that was conducted by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
