The County Government of Uasin Gishu has made a major milestone in its effort to decongest the town following the introduction of a new bus park that will cater for at least three matatu Saccos plying the Eldoret-Langas route and other parts located in the eastern part of Eldoret town.
According to Chief Officer Roads, Transport and Public Works Engineer Abraham Kiptalam, the Matatus plying Eldoret-Langas route will start taking off from the newly established bus stop from Tuesday this week.
”This is a new stage we have put up under the instruction and the leadership of H.E Governor Jonathan Bii to decongest the main stage at Trocadero. We have done marraming and will come again to fill with quarry sand to ensure the area is conducive for business,” said Eng. Kiptalam.

While on the inspection exercise of the bus stop on Monday, the Chief Officer noted that the move will decongest the main stage and also the main roundabout at the Korosiot area heading towards Kapsabet along the Eldoret road.
In addition, Eng. Kiptalam said that the County Government has put up street lights and is in the process of putting up lockup shops to revive and boost businesses behind the Fims corridor and the Fims street which had closed doors.
”We are so grateful for realizing this achievement under the leadership of Governor Bii. As a department, we are impressed by the growth we are experiencing in Eldoret town,” Eng. Kiptalam added.
