Elgeyo Marakwet Set to Get New County Secretary, Chairperson of County Public Service Board

Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wisley Rotich has nominated several senior county government officials.

Rotich, in an update on his verified Facebook page, said the nomination followed interviews for the positions.

I have received interview results from the Select Panel and nominated below candidates who met the set qualifications and forwarded for consideration and approval by the county assembly,” the county boss said.

Who is the new Elgeyo Marakwet County Secretary?

Among the positions affected is the Elgeyo Marakwet County Secretary. The governor has nominated Lazarus Chebii for the position currently held by Paul Chemumut.

Chemumut’s term is coming to an end. He served during former governor Eng Alex Tolgos’s tenure.

The new County Secretary nominee is from Keiyo North.

New Elgeyo Marakwet County Public Service Board chairperson

Another key nomination is that of Dr Sally Chemutai Kimosop to be the new chairperson of the Elgeyo Marakwet County Public Service Board.

Loreita Kotut and Samuel Chepkole have also been nominated to be members of the County Public Service Board.

In addition, Dorcas Cheruiyot Cherotich has been nominated by Governor Rotich to be the new Elgeyo Marakwet County Attorney.

The names of the nominees have since been forwarded to the Elgeyo Marakwet County Assembly for consideration.

Relevant committees are now expected to vet the individuals before MCAs make a final verdict of whether they are qualified to serve in the positions they have been nominated to.
