Uasin Gishu County Chief Officer for Roads, Transport and Public Works Eng Abraham Kiptalam has stressed the devolved unit is determined to fulfil all the promises made by Dr Jonathan Bii to the residents and that no effort will be spared in making the promises a reality.
Speaking in Kapseret-Simat ward on the outskirts of Eldoret City as he inspected the gravelling of the Airport-Chepkatet-Ng’aniat-Forest road and dozing of Kapseret centre-Miti Mbao-Lemok road, Eng Kiptalam said the ongoing road upgrades in nearly all wards will ease transport, trading, and communication.
“We are dozing some of the roads to expand them in order to open all these regions to enhance access to schools and other institutions, help in the expansion of businesses and support the growth trading centres,” he explained.
“His Excellency, the governor promised to ensure our traders and farmers don’t incur high costs while transporting their produce and products to the markets and farms. We will continue to improve the accessibility of all the wards to make that promise a reality,” he added.
In addition, the Chief Officer said that the ongoing rehabilitation programmes of rural and urban roads and drainage works will also attract a lot of investors coming in to trade in the City of Eldoret.
He further called on the engineers and residents involved with the implementation to ensure quality is adhered to set timelines for the projects so that they deliver their intended benefits to the users.
