Kenya Power Reveals Cause of National Power Outage

Kenya on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, experienced a national power outage.

The outage left many parts of the country without electricity – affecting many businesses that rely on power to operate.

In a statement shared on their social media pages, Kenya Power said the outage was a result of collapsed towers on Kiambere – Embakasi High Voltage Transmission Power Line.

The outage was reported at 10.45 am.

“Our engineers are working to restore electricity supply as the repairs are being undertaken. An update on the restoration progress will be issued in due course,” Kenya Power said in the statement.

They also apologized to their customers for the inconveniences caused as a result of the power outage.
