Locals within the Kesses area in Uasin Gishu County have been left in shock after a man allegedly stabbed his lover to death.
Eyewitnesses say the man in his late 20s stabbed his lover to death over what is believed to be domestic wrangles before throwing himself in a nearby borehole.
The incident is said to have happened on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 night.
“We woke up to an incident where a man has killed a woman and threw himself to a borehole. I think they have been in a relationship,” said an eyewitness in a phone interview with Uasin Gishu News.
“He killed the woman by stabbing him,” she said.
Locals say the deceased was a middle-aged woman.
Police officers have already arrived at the scene trying to retrieve the body of the man from the borehole.
Further, Uasin Gishu County Police Commander Ayub Gitonga Ali has confirmed the incident saying efforts to retrieve the body are ongoing.
“The body has not yet been removed from the borehole but our officers are at the scene and confirm it is in there,” Ali said.
Meanwhile, police are expected to launch a probe into the incident to ascertain the circumstances under which the incident happened and the motive behind it.
