Keeping the Promise: Rehabilitation of Crucial Roads Continues In Uasin Gishu

Residents of Chepkero village in Kaptagat Ward, Ainabkoi Sub County have expressed their gratitude to the County Government of Uasin Gishu following the start of rehabilitation works of the Chepkero-Railways road.

Speaking at the site while inspecting the ongoing works, Roads Chief Officer Eng Abraham Kiptalam said his department is keen on delivering on Governor Dr Jonathan Bii’s promise to the residents and other road users plying the route.

The Governor is keen on service delivery and will continue to deliver to the people of Uasin Gishu as outlined in his manifesto under agenda number six on infrastructure development.

The residents, led by Emily Meto said throughout the years, their pleas to have the road constructed have been met with unfulfilled promises.

However, she was glad that Governor Jonathan Bii’s government had come to their rescue.

We are very thankful to Governor Bii for ensuring that our road is done in just a week.”

Later, the chief officer inspected the ongoing gravelling of One of the recently completed road in the areaarea and Oletebes roads in Racecourse ward, Kesses Sub County.

 

So far, in the financial year 2023/24, the county government of Uasin Gishu under the leadership of Governor, H. E Dr. Jonathan Bii has graded 824 kilometres of roads within the county, besides gravelling 108 kilometres. Over 50 kilometres of roads have also been opened in the country.
