List: Net Worth of Ruto’s Cabinet Nominees

The National Assembly Committee on Appointment on October 22, 2022, completed the vetting process of all the individuals that President William Ruto nominated to serve in various positions.

Chaired by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula, the committee vetted among others Cabinet Secretary Nominees and the Attorney General (AG).

During the vetting, each of the nominees was asked to reveal their net worth – which basically means how rich or poor they are.

Based on the revelations they made, we have compiled a list indicating the net worth of each of them.

Of the 24 individuals – 22 Cabinet Secretaries, a Prime Cabinet Minister and the AG nominees, two put their net worth at over a billion.

9 others had a financial net worth above half a billion shillings while only one had below Ksh100 million.

Prime Cabinet Secretary Nominee Musalia Mudavadi is the richest of those vetted while Lands nominee Zachary Mwangi is the ‘poorest’, with a Ksh80 million net worth.

  • Justin Muturi – Attorney General – Ksh700 million

  • Kipchumba Murkomen – Transport, Infrastructure and Roads – Ksh550 million
