Nandi: Opportunity for Youth to Study, Work In Canada

The County Government of Nandi is set to host an education fair that will see some of its youth get an opportunity to study, work and live in Canada.

According to posters shared on the county’s official Facebook page, the fair will be held in conjunction with ELIMU among other Canadian institutions.

The County Government of Nandi in Partnership with ELIMU and various Canadia Academic Institutions invite the youth from Nandi County to an Education Fair on Work/Study opportunities in Canada,” read part of the poster.

The Education fair is also scheduled to be held on January 9, 2023, at Disaster Management Unit Offices in Kapsabet town.

Under the program, successful youths will be able to be enrolled in Canadian polytechnics, colleges and universities.

Courses to study in Canada

Some of the courses of interest are Science, Arts, Health, Engineering, Business, Trade and Computer.

Meanwhile, individuals planning to attend the Education Fair have been encouraged to carry along their original and scanned copies of academic certificates, and national identity cards alongside a Curriculum Vitae (CV).

Further, those that will get the opportunity to study in Canada will be for the upcoming May and September intakes.

Among the requirements for one to stand a better chance of getting the opportunity to study in Canada, include a KCSE mean grade of C- (minus) together with a minimum grade of C in both English and Mathematics.

The Nandi County Education Trade Fair comes barely two months after Governor Stephen Sang signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a number of Canadian institutions.

Some of the institutions that Sang signed an MoU with during his last visit to Canada include Thompson Rivers University, British Columbia, Canada as well as Elimu International Education Connection, a key partner for the Education Fair.
