Political Utterances, Fake News Worry for Bishop Kimengich as Voting Day Nears

Eldoret Catholic Diocese Bishop Dominic Kimengich has expresses concerns over utterances that politicians have been making during the recent campaigns.

Bishop Kimengich says some of the utterances can easily cause divisions amongst Kenyans.

Speaking to uasingishunews.co.ke on Monday, August 1, 2022, the clergy said with a week to the general election day, there is a need for politicians to preach peace and unity.

What is worrying is utterances of political leaders while on the campaign. The utterances would easily cause problems and split people. I want to caution the politicians to measure their words and talk about things that will unite the people,” said the Catholic Bishop.

Let us not use the election to threaten people or bring fear into the lives of others. Elections will come and go, but it should not be confrontational or threatening to others,” added Bishop Kimengich.
