Cheruiyot, also the President’s Senior Advisor, noted the prime location of the stadium and its importance to the City of Champions.
While giving the progress report, Acting City Manager and Chief Officer for Urban Development Julius Koech said the stadium which will host 12, 000 people, will also host indoor events as well as tuck shops.

The Principal Secretary for Sports, Eng Peter Tum, visited the stadium less than two weeks ago.
