The burden of maternal mortality among communities in Kaptumek, Kemeloi Maraba/Ward and its environs continues to be the greatest challenge, especially with limited access to a lifesaving facility for safe deliveries.
But there is a new hope to avert the high cases of maternal and child mortality cases in the region, especially in the far end of the Aldai sub-county with the opening of a new Mother and Baby Unit by Governor Stephen Sang which has been fully equipped by the County Government of Nandi.

Expectant mothers will now have a chance to deliver safely and attend all ante-natal care visits during pregnancy, reducing the chances of maternal deaths.
“Bringing quality maternity services closer to our people is in line with the county’s priority in ensuring the provision of the highest attainable health standards as envisaged in our constitution,” said Governor Sang.
