Saboti Constituency Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi on Thursday, June 6, 2024, held a diplomatic meeting with the Iranian Ambassador to Kenya, Dr. Ali Gholampour, at the Iranian Embassy in Nairobi.
Amisi, a second-term lawmaker said their discussions centred on advancing bilateral relations in alignment with Kenya’s five foreign policy pillars; peace, economic cooperation, diaspora engagement, environmental sustainability, and cultural exchange.
“Our commitment remains steadfast in promoting global peace and fostering robust inter-state relations, transcending cultural and religious boundaries,” the MP said.
The legislator, who is also a member of the Defence, Intelligence and Foreign Relations Committee in the National Assembly added that during the meeting, he expressed, on behalf of the committee, their belated condolences on the passing on of President Ebrahim Raisi.
Raisi perished in a helicopter crash about a fortnight ago.
The late Iranian President had recently visited Kenya where he was hosted by President William Ruto at the State House.
The youthful legislator has established strong relationships with several foreign countries which has benefitted the people of Saboti and Trans Nzoia County at large.
