Eldoret town has been in the race to be the country’s fifth city.

Efforts to have the town, already ranked as the fastest growing and top 5 most populated urban area in Kenya, be a city have been ongoing for the last year.

One of the areas that will help push the town to be elevated to a city status is infrastructure – especially roads, within and around the town.

This is an area the County Government of Uasin Gishu has fairly done well, with the support of development partners – among them the World Bank.

Arap Kitongo road also has one significant mall – Highlands Mall, one of the only three malls in Eldoret, alongside the luxurious Rupa’s Mall and the Zion Mall.
