Trans Nzoia Community Health Workers to Get Monthly Stipend from County

The County Government of Trans Nzoia has pledged to start remunerating Community Health Volunteers as a way of motivating them.

Governor George Natembeya on Wednesday revealed that his administration will begin paying a monthly stipend to the dedicated health promoters who have tirelessly served the county for years but had been previously neglected.

Speaking at the commissioning of the new maternity wing at the Motosiet Level III Health Center in Cherangany Sub County, Governor Natembeya emphasized the importance of recognizing the efforts of healthcare workers and boosting their morale through fair compensation.

The governor urged residents to prioritize their health and ensure their children have a balanced diet, as malnutrition continues to affect numerous children in the county.

He also pledged to increase the number of medical officers employed, underscoring his commitment to ensuring the delivery of exemplary healthcare services across Trans Nzoia.

Accessible healthcare facilities

Highlighting the need for accessible healthcare facilities, Governor Natembeya announced plans to equip the Motosiet Level III Health Center to eliminate the need for residents to travel long distances to seek medical assistance.

He further assured the public of a forthcoming medical camp in the area to provide additional support and healthcare services to those in need.

Governor Natembeya, unwavering in his dedication to the well-being of the people, affirmed his commitment to accessible and high-quality medical services for all mothers in the county.

During his visit, the governor conducted an inspection of the facility, identifying areas for improvement to ensure the Motosiet Health Center becomes a shining example within Kenya’s healthcare system.

The County chief urged the residents of Motosiet to take full advantage of the newly equipped health facility for their betterment.

He also emphasized his administration’s steadfast commitment to improving the standard of healthcare in the county.
