The Trans Nzoia County Government’s Department of Health and Sanitation has received a second consignment of assorted drugs.

This marks a continued effort to strengthen healthcare delivery across the region. The delivery is part of a larger KSh 35 million pharmaceutical investment initiated last week.

Speaking during the handover at the county medical stores in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County Director of Medical Services, Dr. Isaac Babu Kisang’ani, expressed optimism about the impact of the new supplies.

This delivery is going to significantly boost healthcare services for residents who seek treatment at Wamalwa Kijana Referral Hospital and Kitale County Hospital,” said Dr. Kisang’ani.

He emphasised that the availability of essential drugs across all county health facilities is a cornerstone of Governor George Natembeya’s 10-point development agenda, which prioritises accessible and quality healthcare.

Ensuring our hospitals are well-stocked is not just about medicine but also about restoring public confidence in our health system,” he added.

To safeguard the integrity of the distribution process, Dr. Kisang’ani noted that the County has implemented strict measures to prevent pilferage and ensure that the drugs reach the intended beneficiaries.

We’ve put in place robust controls to ensure that these medicines do not end up in unscrupulous hands,” he affirmed.

The County’s health department is expected to continue monitoring the rollout of the drugs to various facilities, with further deliveries anticipated in the coming weeks.
