West Pokot County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Health and Sanitation Clare Parklea on Monday, November 7, 2022, received a consignment of RUSF (Ready-to-Use Supplementary Food) worth 14 million donated by Action Against Hunger (ACF).
While receiving the consignment together with Health Director Dr Jacob Nangole, the CECM emphasized that the donation will aid in the management of acute malnutrition which is a problem in the county.
The ready-to-use supplementary food (RUSF) is a food supplement that is intended to be eaten for two to three months, as part of a nutritional program, to treat moderate acute malnutrition for children 6 months and older.
Children who are set to receive RUSF will be screened at the nearest health facility or outreach site and those found to be malnourished will be given RUSF together with follow-up medical attention.

ACF has continued to support the county government in fighting malnutrition and hunger in identified areas.
Further, the County Government under the leadership of Governor Simon Kachapin will always engage in collaborations and partnerships with development partners and organizations for the betterment of the great county of West Pokot.
