‎World Vision Donates Medical Equipment to Elgeyo Marakwet County to Boost Maternal, Child Health

World Vision Kenya has donated critical medical equipment to Level 3 and Level 4 health facilities in Elgeyo Marakwet County.

The equipment are set to improve service delivery for vulnerable groups, especially expectant mothers and children.

‎The donation was made Thursday, April 16, 2026, under REACTS IN project funded by Global affairs Canada (GAC) which targets maternal, newborn and child health in underserved areas.

‎Among the equipment donated is a consignment that included 10 oxygen concentrators, 50 BMI weighing scales, 5 vital signs monitors, and 50 IUCD insertion kits.

‎According to Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wisely Rotich, the equipment will strengthen emergency response, routine antenatal care, and family planning services at the beneficiary facilities.

Oxygen concentrators are expected to support treatment of respiratory distress in newborns and patients with severe conditions, while the vital signs monitors will aid in early detection of complications.

‎World Vision Kenya noted the support aligns with REACTS IN’s goal of reaching vulnerable populations with lifesaving health interventions.

‎The equipment will be distributed to selected Level 3 and Level 4 facilities across the county.
